American Dream Miami - Project Updates

Follow the journey of the largest planned mall and entertainment complex in North America.
Updated: 08/04/2025

History of American Dream Miami

American Dream Miami, a proposed 6.2 million-square-foot mega mall by Triple Five Group, was approved in 2018 to become the largest mall in North America. Planned attractions include an indoor water park, ski slope, ice rink, and luxury hotels, alongside extensive retail and dining experiences.

Challenges and Complications

  • No construction has started as of 2025 due to permitting and zoning delays.
  • Financial pressures on the developer, including lawsuits and debt from other projects.
  • Dependence on infrastructure upgrades like Turnpike expansion and traffic improvements.
  • Community concerns about traffic and environmental impact near the Everglades.

Current Project Status

As of 2025, American Dream Miami remains unbuilt. Miami-Dade County has requested penalties for missed deadlines, and land transactions remain incomplete. A potential opening date is now pushed to 2026 or beyond.
